It's Outdoor Movie Season in Northern Colorado

The evenings in the summer for our family can feel a bit overwhelming. With all the summer activities (pool, park, hiking, biking, birthdays, popsicles, sprinklers, slip 'n slide, sidewalk chalk, and sand) at the end of the day all I want to do is sit down. However, my guilt starts to surface when I turn on Cars 2 and try to zone out, which means cooking dinner or picking up the house. Recently, one of my "Greatest Moms in the World" friends introduced me to outdoor movies, answering my need for evening summer options.

If you haven't experienced a movie under the stars yet, pack up the kids, sweat shirts, and snacks...it's time.

Answers to the Ice Cream Sugar Rush

I scream, you scream, we all scream when your kids have a sugar rush from an overload of ice cream! I think Mom's can agree that ice cream is a must during the summer, a go-to for birthday parties, and a bribery tool for even the "best" parents. However, the aftermath of this yummy goodness can leave Mom's and Dad's up bargaining, begging, and pleading with their children to hit the hay at a reasonable hour. Not to worry ladies I have an alternative to all your ice cream woes.

It looks, tastes and smells like ice cream, but it's not...in our house we call it Yonanas! To put it simply, it's frozen fruit blended into an ice cream texture. There are three ways you can enjoy this healthy alternative.

One: Blend, blend blend! Check out The Kitchen for step-by-step instructions.

Two: Yonanas magic, you can purchase this fancy machine at target.

Three: Ba-Nom-a-Nom Food Truck! This truck regulars the Longmont Farmers Market and Old town Fort Collins, be sure to follow her on Facebook to get updates on the trucks locations around NOCO. Yum Yum!

Fourth of July Festivities

The fourth of July in our home is a fairly casual holiday, filled with family, food and fireworks. We don't slip into our red and white tea length linen dresses, and seersucker dress pants (however, if you do more power to you) instead we beat the heat in shorts, festive t-shirts and our comfy cotton dress. This year we will be participating in the Greeley Stampede Parade, grilling up goodies with the fam and at dusk enjoying the Windsor fireworks.
